Is KotaDex free?
Yes. Every tool is free and card scans are unlimited, with ads on the browsing screens and a short ad before an export. KotaDex Pro removes the ads and makes every export instant — it doesn't unlock features the free version holds back.
I bought Pro on my iPhone — can I use it on my Android phone (or the other way around)?
Not directly. The iPhone app and the Android app are sold through two separate stores — Apple's App Store and Google Play — and each store handles its own billing. The two stores don't share purchase information, so a Pro subscription bought on one platform can't be detected, restored, or transferred to the other. KotaDex doesn't use a sign-in account, so your Pro access is tied to the store you purchased through. Your subscription stays active on the device where you bought it. If you'd like Pro on a device that uses the other store, you'd start a subscription within that device's app. This is how Apple's and Google's billing systems work for most apps that don't have their own login accounts — it isn't specific to KotaDex.
Where are my cards, contacts and receipts stored?
On your device only. KotaDex has no account and no cloud, so we never see what you scan. That also means we can't restore it for you: keep your device's own backups turned on, and use the CSV export to keep your own copy of your network and receipts.
Which languages does KotaDex speak, and which cards can it read?
The app is translated into 33 languages. Scanning — cards, receipts and handwritten notes — reads 30 of them, covering Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese and CJK scripts. Greek, Hebrew and Hindi aren't supported for scanning yet, and the app says so on the scanning screens if that's your language.
